U13 AA

Meet Our Saints U13 AA Coaching Staff

Kylie Klassen – Head Coach:

I was born in Winnipeg, MB and started playing hockey when I was 4 years old. I learned how to skate on the pond behind our house while living in St. Norbert. Every winter my dad would make a rink on the pond where me, my brothers, and other kids from the community would play hockey. While in Winnipeg, I played boys hockey until grade 5 when I transitioned to female hockey. Our family moved to Winkler, MB when I was in grade 6. At this time, there was no female hockey team in Winkler, so I played boys hockey in Winkler and female hockey on teams in the surrounding area. In grade 10 I moved to Kelowna, BC where I attended the Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Program. In grade 11 I played for the Balmoral Hall Blazers prep team during their inaugural season. I also played for Team Manitoba and attended the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, YT where our team won the silver medal. In grade 12 I attended school in Warner, AB and played for the Warner Warriors. I again played for Team Manitoba and attended Nationals in Kitchener, ON.

I was recruited as a forward to Syracuse University (NCAA Division I) for the 2008/2009 hockey season. Here I began my education majoring in Psychology. During my first year at Syracuse University, I was moved back to defense within the first couple months of the season and had to learn how to play a new position. I continued to play defense throughout my time at Syracuse University as a Freshman and Sophomore. After my sophomore year, I transferred to Plattsburgh State University (NCAA Division III) where I played defense and forward throughout my Junior and Senior years. I graduated from Plattsburgh State University in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts double majoring in Psychology and Gender and Women’s Studies.

In 2014 I moved to Minot, ND to pursue my master’s degree in School Psychology at Minot State University and graduated in 2017. I moved home to Winnipeg in February 2021 and continue to work as a school psychologist for River East Transcona School Division. I am also currently working on becoming a certified child play therapist.

I was an assistant coach for the U13 AA Saints during the 2021/2022 season. While in graduate school I supported the Minot State Beavers female hockey team. During the summer of 2009, I ran a hockey camp in Morris. MB.

Additionally, I played goalie for the Beliveau Barracudas from 2015 to 2019. I continue to play hockey for the Western Predators in the senior women’s hockey league. I have my general science degree, and I am currently in my first year of the education program at the University of Saint-Boniface with the goal of becoming a high school science teacher. I am super excited to coach this season!

Chelsea Dinnin – Assistant Coach:

My name is Chelsea Dinnin, I grew up in Lorette, Manitoba. I started playing hockey when I was 4 years old with the Lorette Comets, playing mostly boys hockey up until age 13. At 13, I started playing female AAA hockey with the Eastman Selects and continued to play for them up until I was 16. In my last year of Eastman, we were able to win the Championship. In my last year of high school, I attended Balmoral Hall School where I played on the Prep hockey team, where we also won the JWHL Championship. Once I graduated, I attended Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario playing one year of University hockey. I am now currently playing in the Manitoba Junior Women’s Hockey League for the Manitoba Grey Owls. I’m completing my degree in Kinesiology and Rec Management at the University of Manitoba, in hopes of becoming a Phys. Ed Teacher. I also work part time at Canlan Ice Sports teaching hockey clinics to all ages. In my spare time I enjoy performing hockey free styling on my Instagram account DreamHockey. I have recently started working with Sherwood Hockey to promote their new equipment. I look forward to coaching these young athletes in developing them into high level hockey players and shape a well-rounded team! Go Saints!
