Unfortunately, the date has come that Hockey Winnipeg has made the difficult decision that having a viable season is no longer possible. The current restrictions are in place until at the earliest Feb. 13th, many arenas have or will soon remove ice, and the logistic of scheduling a season, not knowing what the next week will bring, is just not possible.
They are not saying that if the provincial health directives change, and centres and arenas are allowed to open that we cannot have players on the ice, just that there won't be a formal season. As indicated, Hockey Winnipeg is committed to supporting us with this.
Any refunds need to be coordinated with HWPG, SBMHA and TMHA so we appreciate your patience with this. We will also be working with the teams to refund any money collected that hasn't been spent.
The WEFH board would like to thank all of coaches, players, families and volunteers for supporting us in what we hope is a unique year. We hope everyone stays healthy and safe and we will see you on the ice as soon as possible!
As always, we welcome any questions and comments.
Teri, Jacquie and the WEFH board
